San Antonio, TX (September 16, 2024) – Rise Recovery is excited to announce its participation in the Big Give 2024, a 24-hour online giving event aimed at supporting local nonprofits across South Central Texas. This year’s Big Give will take place from 6 PM on Wednesday, September 18, to 6 PM on Thursday, September 19, with early donations opening on September 11.

Through the Big Give, Rise Recovery aims to raise $20,000 to support their families in recovery in a variety of ways, including the annual Families in Recovery retreat. This event provides an opportunity for families impacted by substance use to come together, share their experiences, and foster healing. The retreat, this year centered on the theme of “Healing the Inner Child,” offers a safe space for emotional growth and recovery. 

In celebration of Recovery Awareness month, we will also be sharing content around the idea of “Recovery to Me” throughout September. We hope these stories of hope will show what Rise Recovery and the Big Give is all about.

“God is everywhere and in all experiences, yet it is easy to forget this in the midst of a busy day or stressful time,” says Rise Recovery staff member Cat Daman. “Families in Recovery serves as a transformative space for self-reflection and personal growth. It is a space of connection, compassion and change. A space that brings everyone together while also bringing each of us closer to our higher power.”

The Big Give’s overarching goals include increasing awareness of the positive impact of local nonprofits, connecting donors to causes they care about, and making giving FUN. This aligns perfectly with Rise Recovery’s mission of supporting individuals and families affected by substance use disorders.
