At Rise Recovery, we believe every young person deserves the chance to recover, rebuild, and rise to their full potential. That’s why we’re thrilled to announce Harvey’s Scholars, a new initiative made possible through a generous donation from philanthropist Harvey Najim.

This gift will sustain and expand the life-changing recovery support services offered through Rise Inspire Academy (RIA)—San Antonio’s only recovery high school—ensuring that more students can stay on the path to graduation and toward their next step in life and recovery.

A Legacy of Hope and Opportunity

Named in honor of Mr. Najim’s generosity and lifelong commitment to empowering youth, Harvey’s Scholars represents more than funding; it’s an investment in futures. RIA serves high school students who are working toward both academic success and recovery from substance use.

For these students, recovery support and education go hand in hand. The Harvey’s Scholars initiative will help maintain essential services such as counseling, peer mentoring, and recovery coaching—resources that keep students connected, motivated, and on track to earn their diplomas.

Beyond 2026: Building a Sustainable Future

With this initiative, Rise Recovery can ensure that RIA’s mission continues beyond 2026, sustaining the holistic support system that helps young people heal, learn, and thrive. Harvey’s Scholars will also allow RIA to expand its reach, helping more students find stability, community, and hope during one of the most pivotal times in their lives.

As RIA continues to grow, this funding will strengthen the foundation that allows youth in recovery to graduate, pursue their goals, and step into adulthood with confidence and purpose.
