Position Overview
The Database Administrator will oversee the administration of the organizations database(s), analyze staff needs of the database(s), and develop a long-term strategy for data storage. This role ensures databases are optimized for performance, data integrity, security, and availability to meet the organization's needs. The Database Administrator collaborates closely with development, infrastructure, and operational teams to support applications, troubleshoot issues, and plan for future growth.

Essential Job Functions
Maintains the daily operations of databases.
Designs, implements, tests, and maintains databases for the organization.
Ensures security, optimum performance, and adequate capacity of the databases.
Performs backups, installations, and upgrades for the systems.
Additional Job Responsibilities
Oversees database development and modification efforts.
Maintains current and accurate knowledge of data storage and management best practices.
Ensures that databases are designed to meet specifications and requirements at the lowest costs.
Ensures that database projects are completed on time and within estimated costs.
Develops and maintains documentation and standards.
Identifies and resolves production and/or applications development problems related to the use of the database management system software or utilities.
Gathers, organizes, and interprets statistical data from the database to provide reports to, and answer questions from, upper management.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Education and Training
Bachelors degree in Business Administration, Statistics, Mathematics, Accounting, or Computer Science or equivalent work experience required.
At least three (3) years in Data Processing, with at least two years of experience wit database management systems; OR two years as a development programmer/analyst using database techniques under IMS/DB-DL/1 required.

Proficient with Microsoft Products to include Word, Excel, Outlook, and Power Point
Physical Requirements
Ability to walk, stand, sit for short or long periods of time.
Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
Able to operate standard office technology and equipment and utilize office supplies.
Must be able to access and navigate each department at the organization’s facilities
Working Conditions
Standard administrative office environment primarily during business week with availability to work outside regularly scheduled hours during periods of workload fluctuation.
Periodic commute for meetings and support to local service centers.
