While peer support has been around for years, it has recently become recognized as a vital piece to recovery. The Recovery Support Peer Specialist (RSPS) training will provide the necessary skills and knowledge needed to work as a peer support specialist in settings such as peer-run organizations, public or private substance use treatment, veteran services and corrections departments.

Peer support services can effectively extend the reach of treatment beyond the clinical setting into the everyday environment of those seeking a successful, sustained recovery process. The RSPS training is conducted in two steps. The first part of the program is the Core Training. Once the Core Training is successfully completed, you are eligible to apply for the Specialized Training for RSPS. You must apply and successfully complete both to be certified.
